Festival Survival Guide

When it comes to festivals, the seasoned vets will tell you there are tons of hacks that will make or break your experience. If you’re a first timer, don’t worry! We are here to walk you through it. Here is our festival survival guide to ensure you have the best time possible at the Toronto Vegan Food and Drink Festival this Saturday August 13th! 


1.Hands free
Bring a carry all bag or backpack because you’ll need your hands! Whether your eating, drinking, dancing or snapping pics, having to carry things is just going to be annoying and ruin the experience.


2.Comfortable shoes
Wear comfortable shoes! The festival, like most, will be held mostly on grassy terrain. Therefore wear shoes you can walk in on the grass, won’t cause blisters and you’ll be comfortable spending the day in.


3.Bring blankets
Toss a blanket in your backpack! This will ensure you have a place to sit down, relax or eat. There will be picnic tables at the fest but even then don’t risk getting those gorgeous white shorts dirty! Having a blanket or something to sit on will only enhance your experience.

Apply sunscreen before you come! Don’t spoil your day by getting a nasty sunburn.


5.Practical clothing
Wear something practical! The festival will be held outdoors, which means porta potties. We love rompers just as much as you girls do but do you really want to strip down every time you need to use the washroom?


6.Bring cash
Waiting in line to use the ATM is as annoying as those pesky service fees. Plan ahead and bring cash to the event, you’ll be happy you did!


7. Wet wipes
You’ll be glad you brought something to wash your hands and face with, especially after pigging out!


Killer shades are a festival must have! Not only do they complete any look, you’ll be glad you have something to protect your eyes when its bright and sunny out!


If you’re like us, you cannot wait to try all the delicious vegan craft beers. As we all know, beer can be super filling. Bring some Tums or an antacid to snack on between beers to keep from feeling bloated and icky under the hot sun! Cheers to that!


10. Stay hydrated
Bring a water bottle and stay hydrated. Spending a day in the sun can be draining, so keep your body feeling its best by drinking lots of water with free refills at our H2O to go station!


11. Bring an umbrella
The festival is a rain or shine event - we're hoping for shine! But .. just incase it does rain we suggest bringing an umbrella so you can stay and enjoy all the vegan goodness without getting wet!
