NYC Vegan Food & Drink Festival Survival Guide!
Thank you for buying your #VeganFestNYC tickets because tickets are now officially sold out! We can't wait to see you Sunday and want to make sure you have the best time possible! When it comes to festivals, the seasoned vets will tell you there are tons of hacks that will make or break your experience. If you’re a first timer, don’t worry! We are here to walk you through it. Here is our festival guide to ensure you have the best time possible at the NYC Vegan Food and Drink Festival!
TIPS AND TRICKS
You’re heading to a food festival, we’re all coming for the food, so expect some lines. Especially for those out of town vendors… you’re in for quite a wait, but don’t worry, it’s totally worth it. The vendors are doing their very best to serve their food as fast as possible. If you expect to be waiting, grab a beer, join the queue, and enjoy meeting some fellow vegans.
Sharing is caring
Some vendors will be serving full portion sizes. If you want to be able to try everything, we suggest splitting your portions with friends!
This year, we have more entertainment than ever! From lawn games, to volleyball, to free henna for kids, to incredible art installations, to a bouncy castle, and even a super exciting lineup of stage events (think hot dog eating contest, beer chugging contest, and prize giveaways). This wouldn’t be possible without our sponsors, huge thank you to The Imperative, Daiya Foods, GT's Living Foods, Nature's Path
We will have water refill stations this year. It’s best to keep your water supply stocked, so you can last all day!
Most importantly, bring your appetite. This is an absolute necessity. We have amazing vendors attending this year, and you won’t want to miss out on any of them!
Shop Till You Drop
The incredible vegan retail store, The Imperative will be attending the festival. Make sure to save that $$$ and stop by! They’ll be selling exclusive festival merch and custom vegan tees.
Plan Your Transportation
Don't miss the fest because you didn't plan on how to get to the island! The festival will take place at the Harlem River Event site on Randall’s Island Park which is located directly behind Icahn Stadium. Please click here to view Randall's Island Park on Google Maps.
Subway & Bus
Attendees can take the 4, 5 or 6 trains to 125th street and transfer to the M35 bus to Randall’s Island. You can also walk to the festival from 125th street; just walk east, cross the RFK Bridge and you've arrived!
Walking & Biking
You can get here by crossing the RFK Bridge from Manhattan/125th Street (about 15 minutes walking), RFK Bridge from Queens (about 30 minutes walking), or the RFK Bridge from the Bronx (about 15 minutes walking).
Attendees can also walk across the footbridge from E. 103rd St. in Manhattan directly into Randall's Island Park (about 25 minutes walking). If you plan on biking to the fest, we strongly recommend that you come via the 103rd street footbridge!
You can also take the Randall’s Island Connector from the Bronx, which runs under the arches of the Hell Gate Bridge railroad trestle between 132nd Street at Willow/Walnut Avenues and the northern shore of Randall’s Island Park.
Please note that there is absolutely no parking available on site and public transportation is highly encouraged!

Get Your Drink On
More bars this year means more drinking! Be sure to check out all of the thirst quenching options we’ve added. Cheers to that!
Bring a carry all bag or backpack because you’ll need your hands! Whether you’re eating, drinking, dancing or snapping pics, having to carry things is just going to be annoying and ruin the experience.
Wear comfortable shoes! The festival, like most, will be held on grassy terrain. Therefore wear shoes you can walk in on the grass, won’t cause blisters and you’ll be comfortable spending the day in.
Bring your lounger
Don’t like to eat on the run? Feel free to bring your own portable chair or blanket.
Killer shades are a festival must have! Not only do they complete any look, you’ll be glad you have something to protect your eyes when it’s bright and sunny out!
High temperatures can mean low energy! Beat the heat by applying sunscreen before you come. We will have many more shaded areas than previous years, a sun protection bonus!
Wear something practical! The festival will be held outdoors, which means porta potties. We love rompers just as much as you do but do you really want to strip down every time you need to use the washroom?
You’ll be glad you brought something to wash your hands and face with, especially after pigging out!
Vendors & bar will be accepting cash only, so bring lots of it. Waiting in line to use the ATM is as annoying as those pesky service fees. Plan ahead and bring cash to the event, you’ll be happy you did!
