Festival Survival Guide

We want you to enjoy Vegandale Festival to the best of your ability so we've put together some festival tips and tricks to keep you having a good time all day long! But first, let's talk about our on-site COVID-19 Policies.

All attendees agree to follow the below festival policies (including health and safety policies) and posted instructions while at the festival.

At the event:

  • Wear a mask if you are unvaccinated or are unable to avoid crowded areas
  • If you are unvaccinated or at high risk for severe COVID-19, avoid crowded areas of the festival and stay at least 6 feet away from other groups
  • Avoid physical contact with people outside of your party
  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water, or with hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol
  • Limit consumption of substances. Consuming alcohol or substances may make you less likely to follow COVID-19 safety measures
  • Do not attend Vegandale if you have symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea), even if you have been vaccinated
  • Do not attend Vegandale if you have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days.

Here’s a sneak peek of Vegandale Chicago! Our site map shows you where all of favourite food, drink and merch vendors are.

Visit our interactive map here. You can search vendors to easily see where they’re located, save your favs and plan out your perfect festival day.

Rain or Shine!

The show must go on, no matter the weather! Dress for the weather and pack your rain boots to keep having a good time despite a little rain! Ponchos will be available for sale on site.

Grab An Alcoholic Drink & Stay Hydrated!

Please bring your own plastic sealed water bottle. We will also have water available for purchase at our fully stocked bar, along with alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. Pop by for a cold one! We can't wait to quench your thirst all day long and keep the party going! Due to COVID-19 restrictions we were unable to have refillable water stations on site.

No In & Out Privileges - But Why Would You Want To Leave?

Due to COVID protocols, we will have no in and out privileges. Plus - we’re not really sure why you’d want to leave and miss out on Vegandale Fest anyways.

Share with us on IG - How Strong Is Your IG Game?

We have tons of cool art installations to keep your selfie game strong! Share your Vegandale experiences by tagging your pics with @vegandalefestival and #Vegandale.

Expect Lines

You’re heading to a food festival! Everyone will be coming to experience the food, so please expect to wait in some lines. Our vendors will be doing their very best to serve their food as fast as possible. While you're waiting, grab a beer, join the queue, and enjoy meeting your fellow vegans. Arrive hungry, and we promise to make it worth the wait!

Sharing is Caring

Some vendors will be serving full portion sizes. If you want to be able to try everything, we suggest splitting your portions with friends! For example, a burger can be cut into at least 4 portions. We suggest sharing items like this if you’re interested in trying a little bit of everything at the fest!

Social Media

Between our new art installations, sassy lawn signs, food, drinks and an all around good time, the Instagram opportunities will be endless! Don't forget to use #Vegandale on all of your posts and tag us on Instagram and Facebook - @vegandalefestival. We want to see how you #experienceveganism with us!

This year, we have more entertainment than ever so be sure to get in on the action! We'll have tons of photo opportunities with our revamped art installations, a variety of lawn games and a bumpin' volleyball court. Join our contests and dance party with our host Lauren Toyota (AKA @hotforfood) and Kira The DJ spinning the best music live on the main stage. It's gonna be a goooood time!

Bring Cash, Credit Card & Your Tickets!

Our doors will be accepting cash and credit. Some vendors will be accepting credit only. So it’s best to be safe and bring both cash and credit. We will have ATMs on site as well.

Four-legged friends on leashes are welcome at our Chicago festival!

What else to bring?

Don’t forget to bring cutlery, tupperware and a blanket to sprawl out on for the ultimate vegan picnic. Not only will this reduce waste, it’s also great for storing leftovers and taking food back home!

For the most convenient parking, our parking partner, Millennium Garages, has a special online 12hr daily rate for $13 at their Millennium Park Garage and Millennium Lakeside Garage. Parking passes can be purchased through their site here.

Sun Protection/Weather Lookout

Remember suncreen, sunglasses and a hat to protect you from the sun! Our 2019 festival was a hot one, here's hoping 2019 is more bareable, but be prepared just in case as you'll be outside all day! Keep an eye on the weather as we get to fest day - Saturday September 11th - as our event will go on rain or shine!

Be Practical!

We know you want to look great for festival pics, but portapotties do not favour rompers very well. Be sure to wear shoes that won't make your feet hurt after too long, so you can enjoy everything the fest has to offer! Fanny packs are super easy for storing cash to access quickly, or a backpack to keep you hands-free for food and drinks. And don't forget to pack a picnic blanket so you can enjoy on the grass anywhere on the field.

Keep these tips in mind to help you have the best festival experience at #Vegandale Chicago! Can't wait to see your videos and pics!
